Biology and ecology of cetaceans

Originally from the terrestrial environment, cetaceans have evolved remarkably to adapt to the demanding conditions of the aquatic environment. This transition has led to major morphological and physiological transformations, which have allowed them to become agile swimmers, efficient divers and freedivers as well as fearsome predators in marine environments.
