Project Objective

Ti Dolphin An Nou is an initiative dedicated to the conservation of dolphins in the southern islands of the Lesser Antilles, between Saint Lucia and Grenada. Led by the CCS and supported by the French Embassy in Saint Lucia, this project has strengthened scientific research, raised awareness among local populations and promoted regional cooperation for the sustainable management of cetaceans. As part of this project, a partnership was established with the local NGO Ripples to Waves to strengthen cetacean conservation capacities in the region.

To address the specific challenges of the territory, several initiatives have been implemented. First, scientific equipment was provided to Ripples to Waves, thus facilitating the establishment of expeditions to monitor cetacean populations. In addition, a dedicated training program was developed to support the association's members in acquiring the skills necessary to carry out scientific expeditions independently and sustainably. Then, a research mission was organized to fill data gaps on marine biodiversity and improve knowledge on the presence and behavior of dolphins and whales in this area.

At the same time, a Sea Camp was set up to raise awareness among young people in the Grenadines about the importance of preserving the marine environment, by offering them an educational and interactive immersion. This project illustrates our commitment to protecting the Caribbean’s natural heritage and is part of a global approach to preserving marine ecosystems.
