Our History

The Caribbean Cetacean Society was born in 2020 from the initiative of two marine biologists from Guadeloupe and Martinique. Concerned about improving the conservation of cetaceans in the Caribbean, our NGO based in Martinique aims to develop inter-island cooperation to find missing data and thus put in place appropriate and effective conservation measures with each territory. We also want to disseminate the information we already have concerning existing threats, to raise awareness among local populations, but also to help stakeholders and governments respond to these issues.
